Default Racist Comments? - Are you Offended?

OK, let's see what we really think. Do you think some of the comments that have been made in the house have racial overtones? Are you offened? Do you think things that have been said were said in general or not? Please vote, as this will be interesting to see what we all really think.

Please don't start topics with the title posted in capitials - Red

i think jade has the view that all people are the same. when she said that all the people in the house are humans she pointed that out. when she also had a go at ken for eating and that the other housemates may not eat, she went on to say that "everyone is human". jades dad is black so i dont think she would intentionally be racist towards someone.

Well personally I think they were being racist, I'm not quite sure what they could do to be more racist, minicing accents, calling people racial names "Popadom", and bullying is about as racist as it gets, and S Club 7 are the spawn of Satan sent to lower the standards for us all, so sod em. For once Eggwina had it right and they are witches with a B and should be thrown off the show.

To the people who think it isn't racist, would you personally call Indian people Popadom, minic their accents, give no importance to pronouncing their names correctly etc. Or would you have a bit more class?

But that's just my opinion.

I think they should be forced to put Edwina Curry and John Major in the house as replacements so they lose all their viewers.

That is a very common idea. Just become someone is of mixed race does not mean that they cannot be racist. By that token, you are suggesting that only white people can be racist.

I don't think that they are picking on Shilpa because she is Indian. However, it is another thing to have a go at her about. Also, reading some of Jade's comments made during BB3 do make me wonder if Shilpa's race is part of their motivation.

Didn't that Jack guy even say something along the lines of "Go back to your country?".

But then waking up next to Jade every morning surely must be punishment enough. ARRRRGGGHHHH!

They just need the swastica tattoos on the forehead and the white sheets and they're done.

But BB shouldn't get taken off the air for this. There are bigots like this in all countries, the idea that if we turn our back on the monster, and Jade sure is a monster, it'll go away. Let's expose it, maybe they'll see it one day and realise how disgracefully they acted.

I think the idea that they're not racist because they haven't done it to JJ is a bit silly too. So if it was different and they started calling JJ the N word but had left Shilpa alone they wouldn't be racist too? Don't get that.

Say they were talking in Jim Davidson mock black accents, telling him to go back to his country, that kinda thing? Does it matter why it started or the reason behind the racism?

They're silly little bigotted tarts. Big Brother needs to stick to loveable thick people.

I know that racism can come in many forms but hy wasnt Jermaine calling jackie 'white trash' reported? why wasnt nothing said when Shilpa was taking the p*ss out of Jo's accent? you can be racist whatever colour you are, but people only see a white persons comments as being racist.

Bahn why are you being racist? white trash means an unpoverished individual and is normally aimed at white people. so if i was to call an african a negro, i hope that nothing would be said to me!!

LOL

See that's what the revolting pig used to be perceived as did't she? A loveable thick person.

No longer though!!

Millions of thickos bought into the pantomime thicko act she used to perform. But in BB you can't keep the act up 24-7 and soon the real Pig was bared for all to see.

Still, ths good news is that The Pig won't be on our screens for much longer. She's burned her subscription to the Z-st club once and for all now.

Thickos will have to find a new role model

Aww you see, I actually am white, so when I say white trash am I being racist?

You don't see people calling Richard Pryor racist for using the N word.

You don't get to be white trash by being poor, you get to be white trash by being a scum bag, having a disrespectful attitude. I've been broke and I didn't suddenly become a bigot. I'd have no problems with any black person calling someone like Jack white trash in my presence. It's what he is.

I think there is the concept of the guy who hates his own race, I don't think calling someone white trash is representative of that. Chris Rock did a good standup routine about Black People and N****** about the very same issue. Me being white and being disgusted by the likes of Jack just means I have good taste.

Jack is impoverished alright, but it's mental impoverishment. He's a disgusting repellent little man, white trash sums him up.

Actually he's probably worth a few bob, what with all the club appearences his girlfriend makes. I can't imagine he's with her for her looks or personality.

I think the idea that there's all these white people suffering from terrible racism is a very odd one. That all these white people got kidnapped by black people and put onto slave ships or there was white people lynched in the south or whatever. White people are rarely the victim. What racism is usually about is picking on minorites, quite difficult to do that when you make up the wealthy empowered majority.

Anyway don't want to sully this nice friendly board with arguments. Agree to disagree. But this is why CBB should be on the air as at least people will be talking about the issue.

Shilpa was actually taking the piss out of Jades accent as she couldn't understand her when she said whale. It was Danielle who said she should "****** off home", and Jack allegedly called her a "****", but channel 4 insist he called her a "*****".

I think in the house its just everyday run of the mill discrimination. A bit of bullying, a bit of spite, a bit of jealousy, a bit of racism. Im not too offended cause thats life. What Im most offended by is the people trying to claim that it doesnt exist, when I can see it happening on my TV.

I think Chris is one of the most thoughtful comics out there and for comedy to be really funny it has to be based on a grain of truth.

It was used as a way of exploring a stereotype, not how black people do not like a "certain type" of black people.
