Channnel Four and Endomol are to blame for the 'racest' slurs shown. At the end of the day they control what they edit out of the channel four show. They chose which bits are suitable and which are not. More times than not they'll chose the not suitable stuff for ratings.
Any live coverage of the show has a delay on it so that they can cover their arses for anythings said that could cause legal probelms. Hence why sometimes you hear a plane going over head instead of their conversation. Jade doesn't think before she speaks. Altho i don't condone what she has said, even i have problems with foriegn or foriegn sounding names, and I've worked with many asia, black, far eastern, and white people (who also can have weird sounding names) - my maiden name always caused ppl to prounce if funny, some were so far off the mark was funny rather than offensive! So if all this is racial bullying and only Jade is to blame for it and it was obvious it was bullying, why didnt channel four / Endomol edit it out? Because, dear viewers, that wouldn't make for good television would it? And I LOVE the fact that the new sponsor is an Asian chap himself who didn't even see this as a racial slur / attack. Personally its only bullying if the 'victim' of the bullying is the one who complains or sees it as an attack on themselves. I have been a victim of bullying/harassment and other abuse, and yet it is only bullying if i let it be. Blame the channel / makers for showing something YOU don't like, but not for someone having an argument with someone and then venting their frustration. EVERYONE does it. Even you! FFS, he who is without sin cast the first stone. Its not like everyone who moaned about it hasn't done something similar! |

The media blew it out of all proportion. And, I agree, C4/Endemol are responsible, and should have taken responsibility for this. They were more interested in viewing figures than anything else.
They should have the best interests of their contestants in mind, and the safety of them on their departure. This should have been nipped in the bud over a week ago! |
