Default Sponsor Bubble and Josh to Raise Money for Macmillan

Bubble and Josh are running in the London Marathon to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Research

They have asked ThisisBigBrother.com if any members would sponsor them as they have set a target of £20,000. All Cancer charities are something we feel very strongly about at ThisisBigBrother.com and we are trying to raise as much money and have set a target of £500.

The run is in April which gives us 3 months to get £500, I will be going round friends and family to try and help Bubble and McMillan. I hope you can support Bubble and give what you can.

At the end of Bubbles email he said he would quit smoking if he hit the £20,000
Now if that isn't an incentive, what is!

Thanks for you time

Mark

It has now been just over two months since Bubble first contacted us to tell us he was running the London Marathon on April 14th in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief and asked us to help him raise sponsorship. As I’m sure you’re all aware he has since managed to persuade Josh to join him.

Since Mark made this original post we have had a few of you contact us saying that you want to sponsor Bubble and Josh, but we would now like to make this more official.

We were originally going to design a webpage where you could make your pledges but, as you know, Mark has been concentrating more on his GCSE’s (and quite right too ) than updating the main website, so we have decided to use this thread instead.

If you would like to Sponsor Bubble and Josh for their London Marathon run in aid of Macmillan Cancer Relief we would like you to do the following:

1. Reply to this thread. If you wish to say the amount you are pledging you can do so here but if you wish to keep that private that is fine, your forum-name is sufficient.

2. We have now set up a special email address specifically to recieve and track your donations Could you please send us an email to

tibbmarathon@hotmail.com

and let us know the following details:

Full Name
Address
Contact Telephone Number
Contact Email Address
Amount Pledged

We need all of the above information to pass onto Macmillan but we do not expect you to enter this onto a public thread, which is why we ask you to send those details via email to the address stated above.

I will acknowledge this email asking you to confirm one more time your pledge for Bubble and Josh, and once you have done this, your pledge will become official and will be passed on to Macmillan.

Please read the following information before making your pledge.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Terms and Conditions

1 Once your pledge has been confirmed you are obliged to sponsor Bubble and Josh the amount you have promised.

2 Your personal information, as specified above, will be passed onto Macmillan Cancer Research and immediately removed from our records. This information will not be kept permanently or used for any other purposes.

3 You need to give no money now. Macmillan Cancer Research will contact you directly after the marathon has been run to collect your donation. Thisisbigbrother.com is not involved in the collection process at all so please do not send any money direct to us.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please don't worry if you can't afford to give much, every little bit helps, no matter how small.

Also, if you think you can raise some extra sponsorship for us please let us know and I can email you a TiBB/Macmillan sponsorship form.

We will keep you up to date as to the total amount of your pledges.

Thank you for reading this and could we thank you in advance on behalf of Bubble, Josh and Macmillan Cancer Relief for your generosity.

Here's a picture of Bubble and Josh that Andy Harris from Macmillan sent me a few days ago, it's from that photoshoot I couldn't get to a while back. I should be getting some more from him soon and I will post them up when I do.

Thanks for the update LEE. I was wondering what would happen. As I think I said, I managed to collect a small amount at my PI party, and it's burning a hole in my pocket. I'll have a quick ask around to see if I can find someone else willing to part with their cash then send you my pledge.

I must say, as much as I trust you and the rest of the team, divulging all those personal details are making me feel ever so nervous. I love the anonimity of forums, so I'm glad you've promised not to pass the details onto social services.

That's a great photo too. It really sums the pair up. Bubble with a hat, Josh showing as much skin as is phyically possible. I hope it wasn't too cold that day.

I hope Bubble doesn't try to keep his tongue out for the whole run. Granted, it's an effective cooling mechanism for dogs, but for us humans it's dangerous and would concern my mum. Almost as bad as running with scissors!

Thanks Feefs and I can assure you that the only people who will see your details are myself and Andy Harris at Macmillan. Under the terms of the Data Protection Act I won't be keeping them permanently, and as I have a memory like a sieve I will probably have forgotten them completely about 5 minutes after I have deleted them.

Thank you Janette and Splodge I look forward to receiving your emails.

Blinkinlovely - I heard afterwards that Bubble and Dean had been on the Big Breakfast. Did they say anything interesting? Did you hear the song? This reminds me, Dean promised to send me an mp3 of it when it was ready, I must remind him.

PS: Blinkinlovely, does your post on this thread mean you are going to sponsor Bubble and Josh? I do hope so.

Hi Splodge

At the moment members pledges have ranged from £10 to £50.

Our total so far is £490.

That included members pledges as well as donations made by some of my clients.

Hope that’s useful.

Morning, splodge!

I could be wrong, but I don't think the e-mail address to send pledges that LEE typed was actually a link to click on - rather she was highlighting the address in a different colour (which just happens to be the same colour as links show up as!). Does that make sense?

I simply copied the address and pasted it into the e-mail that I sent to LEE.

Hope that helps.

Kaz is quite right Splodge it isn't meant to be a link, it's just an email address for you to use in a normal email.
