I missed all this, but have read reports on the online press

It reminds me of the old saying

Quote:
the best form of defence is attack
No grovelling apologies, call it as it was a simple clash of personalities with any racism purely in the minds of the red tops.

I think it was Admiral Jackie Fisher who came up with the quote
Quote:
Never apologise, never explain

Yes, and in lieu of that, consider the immeasurable shame and condemnation that Jo was spared from when Davina refrained from asking the question "So why did you claim that it made your day?".

These morons are all being treated with the utmost care and empathy, which is a tragic irony in that it is these very things they lack which makes them such pityful individuals.

Jo was given more of a grilling than Jade.

I thought that too. She didn't seem even remotely sorry for anything she had said or done, and even tried to make out that she had been unfairly edited.

She didnt come across well i agree. Se wasnt sorry and she didnt say "oh my god I was horrid".

To pass it off as bad editing was a knee jerk reaction. As Davina clearly said... you can edit the live stream

I believe Jo handled it very well considering and I respect her more NOT for blasting sorry 20 times over...Jo to me looked genuinely shocked at the things she said...to the point of not remembering which I think was pretty true. Jo was always very relaxed looking in the house...maybe too relaxed. I think Jo will look back over it all and then realise she is sorry and can understand what she has done wrong.

I thought this interview was far more genuine than Jade's who completely admitted she had done wrong straight away. I still think the whole thing has nothing to do with racism just a few comments that have been misconstrued but alot of bullying did happen...which does every year the only difference is this year people have turned that into racism.

I agree. If she was prepped then they didn't do a very good jo.

She showed her true colours. No aplogy not even an admission of guilt. She's buried herself. The nervous laughter defence was terrible.

She doesn't seem to realise that accusation of racsim stick. Just ask Ron Atkinson. She's got one hell of an uphill struggle to repair her image.

People don't apologize for something if they don't believe they did anything wrong. Jo explained why she didn't click with Shilpa and people should accept that.
That was not an acceptable excuse. Not everybody can click but does that mean that you have to actively bully them?

I can't believe some of the posts in support of Jo. How can you defend her?

She says she was herself in the house; then her personality is in need of a major overhaul. She needs a course of behaviour modification.

I hate the whole - My cousins are half Indian. So that proves I'm not racist - No it doesn't.

She also said that she, herself, knows she not racist. It's also not good enough; WE need to know that she's not racist.

Davina's interview was a little soft but it was harder than Jade's and Davina did give her at least 2 or 3 opportunities to aplogise but, she just put it down to nerves, said Shilpa agravated her -which kind of implies she feels Shilpa deserved her treatment - and that she was a victim of editing.

There was no apology and not even an admission of guilt that was quickly brushed off due to the atmosphere in the house. It was an astonishing performance. Whoever briefed her did a poor job.

Once again she's made a fool of herself but was anybody expecting her not to? I'm not surprised she refused to do the press conference.

Accusation of racism are very hard to shake. She's going to find this out the hard way.

The telling thing is that Cleo has apparently denied there was any racism in the house, and she was there, not part of the trio and so is an independant witness.

The racism was mentioned outside the house, so everyone starts seeing it, because it is one huge bandwaggon.

By the sound of it, Jo is not playing the game that Jade has been forced to play, and went on the offensive., which is sometimes the best form of defence.

That was C4's decision, not hers

Somewhere along the way C4 / Endemol lost their spine and has been caving in to the chattering classes.

We need to see how she handles things from now on, and showdown with the red tops is long over due.

Cleo hasn't seen and heard all the things that were said privately in the house.

It would seem that Jo did have time to talk to a Dairy Star reporter. They are claiming an exclusive "Jo talks to the Star"

A quote from the article :

'I’m sorry if I have offended people.'

At last. It's amazing what a bit of good coaching can do.

i did'nt like the fact Cleo had to endure Jo's boo's ..and the few cheers, maybe Jo thought they were for her.

And i thought Davina redeemed herself with Jo's interview .. she gave her a good grilling.
As Sticks pointed out, Jo's best form of defence was to go on the attack. It did'nt wash though, she just came across as a non apologetic scrubber.

Why are C4 protecting these horrendous people? They should be hung out to dry.

But I expect nothing more from Endemol.

And why oh why were Jo and Cleo told to leave together together, rather than one at a time? Was it to deflect the attention from Jo and to 'protect' her? She should have felt the full force of the crowds vitriol, like others have done down the years.

A cop-out.

Again.

The only thing I can think of they thought Jo might be in some kind of danger if she left on her own.

Channel 4 do as there employers have a duty of care under the law.

That's not telling at all. Jermaine was there also, and he said that he thought it was due to racism. So he is also an independent witness (and before anyone says that he was biased towards Shilpa - Cleo was biased towards the three girls. She was very friendly with them.) Cleo didn't hear a lot of what was said, and in any event, she would no doubt want to protect her new best friends.

As I said before, it was mentioned inside the house.

Well yes it is, if you have done nothing wrong. If you've behaved badly, are you saying the better course of action is to go on the attack - or hold your hands up and say sorry?
