..if you have taken exams recently, did you have a 'good luck charm' that you took into your exam..?...


..I'm not superstitious as such about most things but I do have a small gold pin of an angel that I carry everywhere..I always think of it as my guardian angel because someone gave it to me at a time when I think I needed one...anyway, I couldn't find it at the weekend and really, really panicked that it was an 'omen'...but I have found it tucked in a corner of my bag..so hence why I thought of the thread... does anyone else have one..?...

Nope, the closest I have would be a hat I wear for writing, but I haven't used that much since BB has started. However I don't believe it has any powers.

A few ago I had some lucky knickers, everytime I wore them if my whippet was racing he wud win. They only ever worked for him though none of my other whippets.

I don't so much as have a lucky charm but I have an Israeli cross around my neck that I have worn everyday for the last 6 years and use it as a kind of safety reassurance when travelling etc. It always worries me when the necklace falls off, it's a bit loose now and I do look at that as a bad sign.

..that's exactly the sort of thing I meant though..I guess Lucky Charm was the wrong way to put it but I just couldn't think what to call it...but just something you always have with you as a comfort/reassurance thing and it would make you feel uneasy if you didn't have it...

I don't have a lucky charm but I have a key ring on my keys that has a lovely story behind it which reminds me to always be kind and helpful to strangers because I know how it feels to be helpless and lost in a foreign country and how horrible it feels not knowing what to do. The key ring says "Cordillera de los Andes" and "Chile" on it and has a sketch of the Andes on it - I was boarding a train going from Dusseldorf airport to Essen train station and this Chilean man and his wife didn't speak much English or German and were looking bewildered at a map so through the power of gesturing and laughter I managed to establish they were also going to Essen but didn't know how to get there so I sat with them and spoke a mixture of broken Spanish, English and German and found out they were going to a conference at a hotel near where I had first lived when I arrived, so we got off at the right stop and I took them over to a taxi and got them a city map from the kiosk and the guy was so grateful he gave me his key ring and told me to have a prosperous and happy life, and it was probably the best thing that ever happened to me the whole time I lived there, it makes me smile every time I look at the key ring.

So yeah, it's not so much a lucky charm but just a nice memento of a really good memory that always inspires me to be a better person

im not superstisious or anything but I always look at the same photo of my cat befre I go to sleep! ever since he died in 2008, it might sound silly but I have always done it apart from when im away

My boyfriend gave me a keyring about a year and a half ago, it's a little wolf wearing a sheep hoodie, it's so adorable and his name is Pedders, I take it everywhere with me, about a year ago when my social anxiety was most crippling it really helped to take Pedders with me and I would squeeze him when I felt anxious, I know it sounds weird, but yeah. :P I never go anywhere without it.

I carry around a $2 bill that a guy gave me. I never spend it and it's all crumpled up now, but it's reassuring to have around.

,,no, it doesn't sound weird at all Jess..it sounds completely understandable and adorable..I think it's not so much a superstition thing because I'm not superstitious at all..it is more of a comfort blanket thing and whatever the reason, it's just something that makes you feel better/more comfortable whenever you feel you need it...aww and your boyfriend sounds as though he helps to give you more confidence, he sounds lovely Jess.....

I brought a lucky Doormouse made from clay or something from the candle factory when i was about 8 or 9 and i still have it in my room now it came with a card saying

" Lucky Mice - Dormice are rarely seen as they are Nocturnal, if found they were often taken home by country folk to spend the winter safe in a cosy cottage "

Yeah I am not superstitious either, it's just something comforting. Yes, my boyfriend is very lovely, I was practically housebound when I met him two years ago and now I am able to go out and do what I want and even interact with people.

...aww, that's sad to hear that you felt like that Jess but lovely to hear that your boyfriend has made you feel so much more confident..it's just a great feeling to know that you're so important to someone and that they believe in you..?..you've always come across as quite confident and just a really lovely person anyway, even if you haven't felt it... ....
