Ben would have probably ended up being just like a mix of 10/11, Peter will bring a new side to the role.

As much as Ben Whishaw would be an amazing doctor he fits the same profile as Matt (young and quirky) so I'm happy with Peter. Maybe Ben as the 13th Doctor... Who knows.

The press was saying that Mr Capaldi was the bookies choice, given that the BBC bangs on a lot about secrecy and security, how did people cotton on to Capaldi to make him bookies favourite. I suspect there to be a leak at the BBC :naughty:

Capaldi will be great. No doubt as soon as he appears at the end of the Christmas Special youtube will be overran with Thick of It mashups of him swearing after regeneration.
