Default Laptop Help!!

hey all so i got an acer laptop and i want to basically restart it to when i first baught it, can anyone tell me how to restart it from the beginning when you install xp and so...

ps.. if u suggest system restore i already did tht but it didnt do what i want , i want it to start from the begining again x

Erm...if system restore didn't work you could try deleteing everything from "Add or remove programmes"

System re-format.

It gets EVERYTHING off your PC, and then you start again. But sorry, I have no idea how to do this, so perhaps one of the tech-savvy mods (Usually James) can help with that?

yeah i tink system reformat should do it now how do u do tht x.. il wait to see james reply.. thanks for the help guys

Laptops usually come with CDs which let you restore it back to its original state.

Don't know if your's did?

Modern PC's/laptops have pre-installed software and the best way is just to use, as James said, the restore cd's provided. If you were to reboot using a random copy of Widows XP, you can end up with sound cards, graphic cards etc (especially with laptops), not working as the required drivers wouldn't be provided. An hour of sniffling through sites for software/drivers isn’t very appealing!

Is your computer new? Do you have the cd’s? Do you have an original XP version or a pirate?

That aside, it might be worth contacting Acer for information if you are not certain. Click Here
