does anyone look forward to there birthday ? 00.08.13

i am one step nearer forty,
the cable is well worn,
not feeling at all sporty,
getting worried about my frogs spawn.
yes it was a great morning,
presents by the lorry,
but creeping up is the yawning,
having to say excuse me or sorry.
the joints do ache,
along with the niggle,
help me for gods sake,
don't watch me squirm and wriggle.
once up its easy,
i first need some food,
served to me is eggs and toast that's cheesy,
to put me in the mood.
ducking and diving progresses,
its the daily routine,
so the head has no second guesses,
strictly legal and not obscene.
watch the soaps by alarm,
they are my passion,
by far the best is emmerdale farm,
my love has no ration.
onto big brother,
ch5 can not ever lift,
over is my best lover,
justice to ch4 is a unattainable gift.
thank you family for the joy,
my birthday was a treat,
getting old is this boy,
now online to see if i get a reply that's sweet.

I look forward to my Birthdays, but I don't like the fact that it won't be long until I'm 20, it still doesn't feel that long ago when I was in Primary School about to put up with some of the most annoying lessons ever.

Ahhh 20....I remember crying before my 20th Birthday. I felt soooo old.

Now I am 41 and enjoying being middle aged. I am practicing for when i am old. I intend to be mad as a box of frogs. I'm well on the way to that goal


But in answer to the Op's question: yes, I do look forward to my birthday most years.

Every year, for about a week before my birthday, my best friend (and ex partner) insists that the age I am about to turn is the official start of old age. I then get about three days of him insisting that I am now old and my youth has gone. Then his birthday hoves into view and he starts to say how actually....that age isn't old, and really the official beginning of old age is the next year, because we're the same age, 5 days apart.

I'll look forward to my next two birthdays until I reach 18, but from then onwards I predict it will be all doom and gloom every time that day comes around again. Birthdays are fun when you're young because you're excited about all the new things your able to do as you grow older but once you reach that age that you can do whatever you want, I suppose it gets boring.

I do :-) I love birthdays, I prefer other peoples though because I like to buy gifts for people and wrap them up all pretty lol.
