They always quote "up to" speeds, which are invariably a lot higher than most of us actually get. I actually think that BT have the faster speeds from what I have heard. The most expensive are not always necessarily better, and vice versa. A more reliable provider is what is needed, and one that will not kill your speeds at peak times. I'm with Sky, but wish I was with BT. You get all the usual spiel about your distance from the exchange etc etc. Fibre optic takes another installation from a call out engineer and another load of bother in my experience, plus more of a monthly fee. Sky have an offer for new customers at £10 a month for 6 months, and then £20 after. I'm not sure about other providers. If I had had a pleasant no-problems experience with Sky I would champion them, but I haven't. Maybe it's time for a change, but I have no experience of UPS.
