Because your average guy can't get a hot girl. Amber Heard, Cara Delevigne, Joan Smalls or Miranda Kerr probably won't date them, so they have to settle for what they can get. If a hot girl landed on their lap, their wives would be dumped in a shot. It's horrid and I don't endorse it but pretending this isn't how it is is unrealistic.
