Default Big Brother will be on our television screens for at least the next five years?

Big Brother will be appearing on our television screens for at least the next five years.

Hertsmere Borough Council has granted planning permission for producers Endemol and Channel Five to continue to film the long running television show at Elstree Studio until 2018.

This evening's vote was unanimous and the council received only one letter objecting to the scheme, from Hillside Avenue Residents Association.

Speaking after the meeting, the Planning Committee's vice chairman Martin Worster said the show's continuation would provide an economic boost to the town.

Marcus Bentley posted it on Facebook too.

Its obviously a good thing, but I would doubt Channel 5 would sign a 5 year deal with Endemol. What it does mean is we'll likely get another 2 to 3 years for sure.
