I've fallen for guys way too easily on the internet who live miles away. Happened just recently...

I suppose --- was my big one, I didn't know he was moving to London when we met up after talking for ages, and after he took my virginity I was expecting him to fall in love with me and we'd be happy together for ever, I was a silly 16 year old who expected way too much from him. God it was rough, took me forever to get over that *******.

I'v never really not given it a go with the person i was close with at the time so nobody has really got away but someone i was with for over 2 years at school ended up having to move away so things were ended but i'v been in contact with her recently (she has a boyfriend) and she's one of the best looking/nicest girls i know.. so things could have possibly been different had she not moved away.

Well I guess it's the girl I've known since I was young, I get that relationships don' exactly work if you've known a person for that long, but when we was 12/13ish we gave it a go, lasted about 6 months, nothing relevant about it, we were still kids really.. after that she was pretty much in love with me more than before but I was probably scared of being in a relationship again idk and left it, then straight away when she got a boyfriend I realised that I had been an idiot and wanted to be back woth her but it was too late... I do wonder what would have happened had I realised at the right time..

..aww, but it wasn't the right time Jake..you know that because you weren't ready then...now you feel you are but she's with someone else..maybe you're4 ready but it's not really to be with her but just someone..?..and you think it's her because she's your first big love and that would just make it all so easy and kind of 'perfect' for you but it doesn't sound as though it was ever really perfect because something was always a bit 'off' with it...if it was meant to be and you were meant to be ready together then it will honestly still happen..like Lee...?...

..yeah you do Jake, but try to remember that the 'what if' is not so much for her but just because you feel ready now so you think about that person who you had the most feeling for and for you she's with someone else so that kind of convinces you that she's the one you 'can't have'..but you did and it just wasn't right, those feelings weren't strong enough for you then...but there is a world of lovely girls who will also feel just as ready as you right now and be single and more than happy to be with someone like you...

I have two stories, one's sad, one's kinda funny...

Funny one: We got to know each other back in 2010/2011 at uni and then I moved over to Germany. We have never been in the same country ever since I left on 11/09/11: Germany/UK, UK/Ireland, UK/Germany. We still speak every now and then and get on just as well as we always did but it's such a wasted opportunity, I think we'd have been really great together. We tell each other inappropriate stories and always have such a laugh whenever we speak.

Sad one: We were together for a few months... I posted on TiBB about it asking for advice because I was being messed around a lot, and Pyramid* was so helpful at the time and gave me a lot of advice, I really miss her... but back to the point, we had been dating around the same time I was getting to know Funny One (strictly non-romantic at the time) and basically was deceived about what was really going on - turns out I was being cheated on for pretty much the entire time and I only found out when we went on holiday together and I got dumped on the first day and we had to spend all week together, so, so uncomfortable and I've been single ever since, such a horrible experience to go through and yet I don't think I'm really over it, because it ended in such a horrible way and it was the first time I'd ever really been in love with anyone... so now when we see each other around uni or on nights out, I just can't be 'normal' and friendly because it was so hurtful at the time and I don't want to be in a position where I can be taken advantage of ever again. But still - the one that got away - my first love was never really mine.
