Oh god well it turns out the 11.11 thing is a single, not the album release date

Mariah Carey has announced plans for her new single.

The star will release 'The Art of Letting Go' on November 11 as the second cut to be lifted from her upcoming studio album.

"I couldn't be more thrilled to announce that my brand new single 'THE ART OF LETTING GO', will be released here exclusively on my Facebook page on 11.11.2013," Carey posted on the social network.

"This song is so personal to me and I'm very excited to share this experience with you in such an intimate way."

Carey was due to release her new album The Art of Letting Go earlier this year, but delayed the project to work on further music.

'The Art of Letting Go' serves as the follow-up to Carey's recent single '#Beautiful', which peaked at number 15 on the US Hot 100 and 22 in the UK.
