Default Christmas shopping...

..what sort of a Christmas shopper are you..do you pretty much know what you're going to buy everyone/have a list which you make out through the year etc so you know exactly what you're looking for..just go shopping with nothing particular in mind and then see things to get people..do you internet shop or prefer going to actual shops...?..

..do you tend to buy 'useful' gifts or more fun/luxury stuff or vouchers...?...shop early/late...what are your Christmas shopping habits..?...

Our Christmas shopping habits have totally altered as we have grown older.
Years ago, my best friends and I used to watch out for the Woolies half price toy sale...normally in the middle of July.
We used to go mad and buy for the kids, money was tight then so hopefully something on their list was in the sale. They always got a couple of surprises.

Even the food shop was more thought out.
I used to pay into a Xmas savings club at the butchers. Covered all the extra cost of the meat etc.
Used to squirrel extra food goodies away weekly as well from September onwards, made life so much easier.

Even though everything was all wrapped and ready to go under the tree, my sisters and I used to go to the Xmas Eve market and buy little extras...mad beggars, it was always freezing cold and yo coud not move for like minded folk

Nowadays, kids tell us what they would like, then we try and get them a little surprise.
Boring but simple.

I have about 10-15 to buy for so I write a list of what I'm getting around the end of October so all I have to do is buy it.

I did my list of presents last night and I'm panicking slightly because it's less than four weeks away. I'm normally done by now, wrapped and everything

I have a list of what most people are getting since we have so much to buy for but when I'm out going round the shops I still buy a load of things that aren't on my list, I also do some shopping online too.

Really struggling for what to get my OH's dad this year.

I buy on impulse. Usually I leave it all til the last minute and panic, but this year I did some of it yesterday, since it will be my first time playing santa properly

I'm going to get a few bits this week with my sis and do the rest with my daughter when she comes home on the 11th. It's lovely when you make a day of it

Well I only really buy for my mum. And some years I will buy for my sister. I'm off to Chester tomorrow to finish it all.

I keep an Amazone wishlist of things to buy people throughout the year and then just get everything in one amazing delivery!

I make a constant list of stuff people mention that they like or are interested in, and get it for Christmas/Hanukkah/Birthdays. I've bought my brother some out-of-print books he's never read by his favourite author... for instance.

I buy most things online but I do like to support the little independent shops in my local town too. Can't bear the thought of walking round major shops during Christmas with all the crowds... sounds like hell on earth.

I'm a spontaneous shopper, so if find something they might like, I'll buy it... I have a list but that's only to mark down presents so I'm roughly spending the same amount on each of my friends.

last year i bought pretty much everything online and it took away some of the fun from going out and doing some shopping so i'll probably try and get less online this year, i'v got a rough idea what to get.

think this year it will be a Budget of £10 for everyone and they are lucky it's not £5, anything that is buy one get one free the free one is going to me as well and i'm not buying expansive giftwrap and bows etc, they can make do with a asda carrierbag instead and of course a few gift vouchers will be given out as well for places like Game and HMV to the people that don't shop there so they give them straight back to me

I am all but done now, I have my Mum's gifts and also my Dad/s to buy and then that is it for me.

I do make sure I pick up on things people want then get them so as not to get someone something they didn't want/like.
Never make lists now, I kept changing lists when I used to.
