I have always said, education will never be got right until the political parties stop treating education as a political football.
By changing what one party does then the next lot get in and try to start to change all again.

For me both the main Govt parties have failed as to education and therefore the children that need the education, both in the 13 years of Labour govt to 2010 and also even moreso in the massive 18 years from 1979 of the previous Conservative govts too.

If you cannot get all right in a full unbroken 18 years of Govt; with comfortable overall majorities too, then something has to be badly wrong with your policies in the first place.
The same argument of course can be made as to the lesser 13 years of Govt that followed that.

Over the last 50 years the Conservatives have governed comfortably for around 26 years,Labour has had around 24 years, not with the overall majorities enjoyed by the Conservatives, yet between them education is still a mess.
To blame one party for that is plain ridiculous in my opinion, they have 'both' massively failed as to education over the decades.

Jon Snow -Ch4News

He is not on a political side as a presenter
but he said the 13 years of New Labours Education
is shown as damage to the UK,

I haven't said I didn't blame Labour for part of the problem but for me the problem lies with education being a political football.
I said over the decades both parties in govt. have failed to set up the right and secure policy as to education and I myself won't just take one part of the equation while not looking at the other.

Education was far from perfect when the Conservatives left office in 1997, it was still far from perfect in 2010 when Labour left office and it is still far from perfect now.

Until these political clowns stop treating it like a political football and a game and get to grips with putting in place education that is going to be fair, consistent and secure then all govts will likely go on failing as to education not just one.

Utter bliss to find out that the education system is/was failing? Good god. You really are commited to hating labour arent you.

I agree with joey on this tbh. And education failing is not a good thing whichever party its under.
