No way! Well, it's highly doubtful that it'll be re-introduced due to there being laws of child abuse and all that. Kids these days wouldn't stand for it either, we're becoming more and more loudmouthed and open, which has both its pros and cons.
I reckon the only reason under 50% of PARENTS said this however is because they just can't control their kids these days.
And also, you'd have to take into consideration 50% of exactly how many parents, what the source is, whether all these parents have come from a similar type of area (which can be assumed in some cases), as all of these would affect the statistic.
