What is the point of bringing back the US season the ratings this year have been dire

US X Factor was never going to be a success, not while the US still enjoys American Idol. The only reason X Factor thrived in the UK was because Pop Idol was a dying brand.

It's cheaper to produce than a scripted show for fox, especially if Simon leaves the show.

Who knows maybe next season that everything clicks, There's one act that's been #1 on iTunes the last two weeks this season that could grab people's attention and turn people to the show, not to mention there might be a few people that won't watch the show because Simon is on it.
