The thing with James Arthur is that his voice is like marmite. You either love it or hate it. As a person he's a bit of a tosser but I love his voice

They'll probably keep him on a bit longer, he has a X Factor slot soon for his next single, so that should do well for a bit longer and he has his tour, after that it's a slippery slope for him unless he realises he needs to stop being a knob and humble himself.

I'm actually surprised at how good this album is. Let's hope he does a bit of growing up.. or just deletes Twitter lol

I don't expect musicians to be role models but in the age of social media, if you are a complete twat, you will end up outing yourself for the idiot that you are and it will impact on your career. No interest in this guy's career at the moment - if you're going to be a prick then don't expect people to buy your music.

True but if the music is good I'm gonna listen to it. It can't change how I hear something

That's also true. I still listen to Azealia Banks' music despite the fact she's a complete moron, probably because I liked the music before she revealed herself to be an idiot. James Arthur, on the other hand, I had no exposure to. I didn't watch that series of X Factor and I didn't hear his first proper single until after he'd started gaining a reputation for being a wanker on Twitter. I was exposed to his awful personality before I heard his music, so for me that's my perception of him ruined.

But what if you hear an Azealia Banks song now that you like would that be a different?
