The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins is set to make a Splash! as she's put through her paces by Olympic diving star Tom Daley in the second series of the diving show.

The TV favourite says she doesn’t want to be seen as “just a big whale in the pool” and hopes “to show that big girls are beautiful.”

And the 32-year-old blonde couldn't hide her excitement over landing a place in the final line-up.

"Thank you for your amazing comments," she wrote, "I'm so excited to be in splash you will all be surprised."

When a handful of people replied to her tweet with barbed comments, Gemma's followers quickly came to her defense, including one fan who urged her to ignore all the cruel jibes.

"@missgemcollins you will bring some glamour and fun to the show Gemma - ignore all negative comments - some right sickos out there... Xx."

Celebrities are preparing to make a Splash! as the ITV diving show comes back for a second series.

Meanwhile Hollyoaks actress Gemma Merna, 29, is also preparing to take the plunge alongside TV presenter Michaela Strachan.

But the 47-year-old says she doesn’t “do glamour” and prefers to be “more comfortable in khaki and a woolly hat.”

Diversity star Perri Kiely, 18, and former EastEnders actor Ricky Groves, 45, will also be joining the girls in the first round of heats.
