Even if it is 'our life', if we can help out, it's a good thing to try to.
And there are other charities supporting people in the UK - find out if you're really interested and you can get involved in helping them (like lots of other people in the country who are involved). ![]() |

LOL there's a plan Simon.
And as far as I'm aware Sophie, yeah Children In Need does donate some of its money to charities in the UK. There's plenty of scope to help out unfortunate people in this country if you wish to! But at the same time IMO it's good that we have the opportunity to help elsewhere as well. |

Children in Need helps people in the UK, the majority of it goes to causes in the UK.
People in Africa aren't able to 'start at home', they're not able to get clean water to live nevermind provide millions a year for their own country hence why countries like this do stuff like it to help them. And as for the '20M raised last year'... that has helped people in the last year all over the world. £20M is a lot of money but it can go so quick when there is cases all over the world that are in need of it, £20M can't just stop poverty so that's why it's done every year. I'm shocked that people are as good as against it and just don't have an interest/care in poverty in the world. Not only that but it's something for us to watch, it's entertaining. What about all the money you GAVE to ITV whilst voting for Leona? That money isn't going to help poverty, it's going to make some rich mans bank balance a lot bigger. Oh sorry, does 10p from each call go to charity? They're too generous. Comic Relief provides entertainment and changes people's lives... X-Factor provides people with entertainment and doesn't exactly have as much as an impact/change on someones life. |

If it really does start 'at home', in England as you keep saying then there are plenty of websites which will give you a lot of information on how to get involved in various charity events to help people in England. |

I think it's probably more important to give money too poorer countries, who desperatly need it for basic things like water, food, clothes ect.

This isn't directed at anyone in particular, but as a general statement:
It's always ideal to help people less fortunate than yourself - and if you get the chance, even more so - wherever the people may be from. |

![]() ![]() Therefore, it's our job to donate SOMETHING and at least give a thought to less fortunate people. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. ![]() |

Item 1
Why have you started another thread, when this thread is still going ![]() I suggest the next MOD that comes by should merge these two threads Item 2 If you want to give money to charities (Home or overseas) there are other ways to do it other than the spectacle that is Comic relief. As a Christian I will not be involved as I stated on the other thread, because Comic releif has given grants to organisations that carry out abortions. (See 2 John 11) Remember Rat poision is 98% flour and only 2% poison - anyone fancy eating rat poison See this press release |
