I disagree a post is a post regardless, a post with a detailed thought out response to a subject in serious debates is contributing a lot more than a post with a gif of some meme or a joker smiley.

Not all of the forum is serious all the time no but Chat and Games is like the spam central of this place, we post about the biggest lot of crap imaginable in here that's why the posts don't count.

If members are so bothered about getting a larger post count then they could apply some effort into the many other sections of the forum where posts do count.

Some of the most inane posts I've ever read have been in the Big Brother section, actually. But posts count there, whatever's in them. Obviously. And I've seen many, many posts in that and other sections answered with a gif or a smiley.

I don't think this is about people getting high post counts, it's about being told that a post is only a post when it appears in a certain section, whatever it is that post contains. There are some amazing posts in Chat and Games, as there are in all the other sections, where many of us already post.

bit silly that they don't. Its funny that the mods' posts count in their mod forum (which leds them to have bloated post counts since they spam in there) but won't let Chat and Games posts count. Hmm...

but in my opinion I think we need to get rid of post count in general, it causes too much bias (esp during BB) and offers no real benefit

That's a very good point, they're always chatting in there, it's unfortunate that there are such double standards for non-mods.

Despite being an ex mod I have to agree with that, a place to bitch/chat crap gets posts counts.

It's still a Post.
And it's quite unfair because quite a lot of us post decent content to there but it's just dismissed.

The most of us want it, so why can't we have it? And plus, it wouldn't even effect the ones who don't want it.
