I was 23, drunk and trolling a Britney Spears fan forum. I remember waiting for more to happen, I remember expecting more to happen, but thankfully it didn't. I put 7/7 in the same category as the Madrid bombings and the Bali bombings. Don't really think it's in the same category as 9/11. It's more like the 1993 attack on the WTC than 9/11.

I don't remember anything about where I was during the Oklahoma City bombing, or the Madrid and Bali bombings. Interestingly I do remember where I was when the OJ Simpson verdict was read though, and I remember where I was when Princess Di died.... I don't know what that says about "moments in history".

7/7 was the UK's first ever suicide attacks and to happen in a city like London, during the rush hour, carried out by one of the biggest threats of the world.. it was a huge deal. Just because it didn't have as much impact as 9/11 doesn't mean it should be overshadowed. Not everything needs to be about 9/11

By the same logic I'm sure parents of a kid who died in a road accident feel it's just as devastating as 9/11 on a personal level.. but you are missing the point... we are talking about things in a larger sense, terrorism.
Obviously anyone losing a loved one is HUGELY devastating, period. ...whether from cancer or terrorism or even suicide. We are talking about major world events though, not personal tragedy.

9/11 is more recognisable because the world literally watched the events unfolding live on TV. That's an image I won't forget and I think everyone can remember what they were doing that day like it was yesterday.
For me I can remember what I was doing on 7/7. The damage wasn't as catastrophic but caused by the same mindless group wanting to cause destruction and murder of innocent lives. To me, it doesn't matter that 7/7 isn't as well known as 9/11. Just that both were tragic and lives were needlessly lost.
