..it's not wrong to iron your OH's shirts or do stuff for him but I wouldn't want to think that he couldn't do those things, himself...

Of course it isn't wrong for a wife to iron her husbands shirts... Or do the washing, cooking etc... As long as the wife is more than happy to do it.

I think it again is an age thing, my Mum always ironed my Dad's shirts (as well as did everything else around the house) & so did everyone's Mum's that I know...

People of Jim's generation were brought up when many women didn't have careers & they stayed at home (& raised children) while the man went out to work... Nowadays things have greatly changed, but there are still many women out there who are 'housewives' & are more than happy to be as such...

This outpouring of feminist type shock & disgust (from many on here who are not even old enough to get married lol) is actually just as bad, as surely it is about CHOICE for a woman to do what she wants, just as some women may choose to be a glamour model or a pole dancer, some are quite happy to be a stay at home Mum... That is true feminism at work

Excellent post, especially your last paragraph.

I am a complete mix.
I am of an age
I am a stay at home mammy.
I still don't iron anyone's shirts
Hubby works 12 hour shifts and still shares the housework etc.

Guess I am just lucky

or really very lazy.

Exactly. You share with and support each other.

You are indeed lucky
