Good heavens; for no apparent reason at all, Ahmed has grabbed some plates, run into the garden, yelled out and smashed the plates against the side of the hut!

it was because the alarm was driving him mad
Emma went in and tried to calm him down calling herself "Aunty Emma"

I don't think it was just the alarm, with Emma's persistant "it's the alarm, it's enough to drive anyone crazy," you're quite likely to say "yes", in order to dispose of her.

One of his other reasons that he cited, also, was that Big Brother wouldn't respond to his question about the task and the time that it finishes.

Seems to me as if the strain is starting to show on Ahmed. Noone else decided to break things only him and they are all feeling the pressure

Ahmed Breaks Down
Day 13, 12:40
Wednesday 09 June

Ahmed spectacularly let off steam just before lunchtime today, yelling and smashing plates in the garden in protest at the relentless alarm and shift arrangements for the housemates' current task.

Clamping his hands over his ears as the alarm endlessly sounded, Ahmed had finally had enough and purposefully strode to the kitchen and grabbed a pile of plates. Taking them into the garden, he let out a battle cry and hurled them at the ground.

A few seconds later the alarm ceased and Ahmed skulked into the living room and sat quietly on the sofa.

Jason tried to make light of the matter and told the Somalian that he had found the incident funny. But Ahmed, looking mournful, told the Scot, "I'm just losing it - it's too much."

An inquisitive Victor then joined them in the living room. "You all right Ahmed?" the Londoner asked casually.

Ahmed told them that shift arrangements for the current "Big Bro - Food To Go" task had provoked his bad mood.

"Is that why you were smashing plates outside?" asked a disbelieving Victor.

The persistent alarm had apparently proved the final straw.

"I think you might have scared a few people with the plate smashing," ventured Victor. "Try and keep it together... we don't want them bringing in the guys with white coats," he warned.

Referring to Jason's previous advice in which he told Ahmed to be more outgoing, Victor cautioned, "there's wacky and there's wacko."

It was all too much for the Somalian and he withdrew to the pamper room to collect his thoughts... and have a quiet weep.
