Default You\'re a Star

Yes, Ireland's answer to The X Factor is back. 'You're a Star', possible one of the worst television shows ever has returned and with a vengeance - Yes they have brought back Louis Walsh as a judge.

In the first 3 series of the show people auditioned for a chance to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest but after Donna and Joe's crap attempt in 2005 they changed it so that the winner will get a record contract.

There are no categories like in The X Factor but Groups can audition.

I watched some of the first, third and forth series and have never seen one successful artist emerge from the programme. I never heard of last years winner since i saw her on the programme.

Anyway - It's back on RTE1 starting Tonight.

This show is actually pretty good this year.
Its still a poor mans X factor but the talent is 100% better.

It's in Week 3 now of the Live Shows and everyone left is as good as Leona/Shayne, if not better. If they auditioned for X Factor they could have done so much better though. This show is done on such a small scale and the winners usually release a single and fade into the background.

Edit: They changed the host as well. If you thought Ruby Wax was bad on CDC, well... you haven't seen Keith Duffy present live TV.

I saw a repeat of last week's show Saturday night when I was home.

Awful... they should really stop the show.

Keith Duffy was awful.
The judges are still awful.
The majority of the performers were hotel/pub acts.

The voting system is dreadful too. Because the show is of such a small scale, the top 8 they have from each venue are dire and the most talented (or potential best act) does not go through. Becuase there isn't many votes, a poor advertising campaign in a local area can almost guarantee you a spot in the final 12.

All the finalists are very samey this year (similar to every other year). Decent looking blokes (except that god awful bald giant) who can hum a tune and play a bit o' guitar.

Awful.

I wouldn't watch even if I was at home.

I think the contestants are very talented but i suppose they all one certin type of music. If your into your pop music then you wont like it.

I want Alan to win, Alan is the 'that god awful bald giant' that Lance was talking about. He is very talented.

When he walked into the audition room Linda 'I bought my face online' Martin (One of the judges) didnt even let the man sing, She just said 'Your not what were looking for, get out'. She is a horrible vile cow.

The Final is tomorrow and 2 acta remain. Tomorrow either 21 Demands or David O'Connor will win.

'You're A Star' did something intresting this year and realesed songs from the final 4 on download. 21 Demands made it to the nunber 2 spot in the Irish Charts, a head of The Fray & Take That.

These are the only clips i could find of 21 Demands & David O'Connor on YouTube.

21 Demands:-

David O'Connor:-

21 Demands aren't that bad actually, and they will win this show hands down tomorrow. But, i agree with what Mr. Plank himself, Louis Walsh, said on tonight's show, they would probably do better if they didn't win.
