Default Builder SURVIVES after being impaled by giant metal pole

Quote:
A BUILDER who had a 1.6 metre solid metal chisel impaled through his face has survived.
Spoiler:

Gao, from China, fell from scaffolding and landed on the extra large tool that he was holding in his hand.

In graphic images, the sharp implement appears to have gone directly through his skull, just inches from his brain.

Th 39-year-old, who is extremely lucky to be alive, was immediately rushed to hospital and taken to surgery.

Doctors spent seven hours carefully removing the metal pole, that resembles a hunting spear, from his head.

Gao now remains in intensive care but medical staff seem confident he will recover.

They even say he is on the verge of checking out soon.

A hole in the head is not stopping this tough cookie.

I remember seeing something similar on "999" (a BBC show about medical emergencies from years ago, fot hose who don't remember) where a schoolboy had been doing javelin at a sports day and had been running to get his javelin, slipped, and it went right through his neck / head.

Amazing really, that a few millimeters can be the difference between life / paralysis / instant death.
