My mum's taking this no card on Mother's Day thing a bit far, she's been trying to guilt trip me all day today as well . We didn't even do Christmas presents this year, I don't understand why not getting a Mother's Day card is such a huge deal

I haven't really spoken to my mother about children, she knows I have a boyfriend and all, but she doesn't really know me well, one time she asked me if I would refuse to marry someone if they said "curse words" or drank alcohol because I don't swear or drink myself. I think she would be surprised if I suddenly told her I was pregnant though.

No she's on her high horse and I'm refusing to entertain her, if I sent one now she'd just criticise it and I really don't consider this to be important at all. It's not her birthday for Christ's sake, it's a pointless celebration invented by card companies intended to tug at the heartstrings of women who've had kids. What exactly is so special about this supposed day? Nothing whatsoever. My dad couldn't care less about Father's Day and we never do anything for that so I don't see why it should be any different for her. I usually get her a card but I haven't lived at home for 5 years so it's not exactly high up on my priorities of things to remember to sort out during the week

My nan has 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She loves it.
