150 years of John Lewis 20.04.14
it has come as no surprise i will never leave John Lewis and convert love to watch them flourish and rise it makes me tingle when i see there advert. respecting the generous staff award with not one bit of jealousy because all staff are not fraud i want to thank you all personally. where did we get this chain 1836 is a safe bet in "Shepteon Mallet" born was this strain it has landed on the map "Somerset". at 14 years old John was a scrapper but thankfully to "Peter Robinson" had no shoulder cold now with a apprentice for this "prestigious Draper". all through every rank hard craft with no pity partner "Robinson" offer sank John was the youngest "silk buyer" in the city. Oxford street in 1864 was bling number 132 to be exact what a great time to start in spring a perfect attract. being a shrewed salesman John did master stock was in every available space sometimes removing walls of plaster this is the current foundation trace. Gavin Henderson went through whats invincible value, assortment and service and honesty and still to this day is the principle and that's why John Lewis still boom in times of austerity. step in John junior to salute one great entry to all employees "profit share" he did distribute a sense of pride for every employee. with 20 £1000 notes in his pocket courage and ambition was the share 1905 around Christmas was a spectacular rocket because "Spedan" bought off "Peter Jones" the business in "Salone Square". over time it grew well until 1940's blitz but the "Queens Coronation" they served when on Que John Lewis looked better then the "Ritz". the steel shortage delayed rebuilding on 17 October 1960 it was complete and 150 years later is no shielding the 91000 permanent staff are sitting sweet. what a wonderful save have to end with a slam i want a discount on my next aftershave and i will purchase it next year in your new store in Birmingham. ( 150 years and still going stronger then ever. whats left to say other then congratulation to all at John Lewis and well done. ps when i want my next aftershave - i want a big discount. if you wanted to see what inspired this you can here - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-27033810 ) |
