..no, honestly it's not like that Greg, they're only there for an assessment at the beginning and you usually can't use any of the equipment until you have that anyway and they just do you a chart/table of exercises...they don't stey with you at all after that first time...at my gym you have to have that first induction..and also, you'll find people there with a lot lower fitness levels than you..you should have seen me the first time I went on the treadmill, it takes a while to build it up...

Hmm well I've had a gym induction before but all they did was show me how everything worked, there wasn't really any kind of 'what would you like to achieve' conversation or anything.

..they do in all the gyms here Greg..maybe you have to ask them for a chart, you could phone them and ask before deciding whether to go..?..tell them the parts of your body you want to particularly work on...

Well apparently my BMI is 22.4 and it should be between 18 and 25... so I reckon if I get my BMI to 21.5, half way between the two, that would be the ideal place to be, right?

Right my goal is to get down to 11 stone or thereabouts, that'd put me at a BMI of 21.4. No less than 11 stone, but I reckon losing 7 pounds is a reasonable aim taking going to the gym into account!

We got an email today telling us who would be doing the speaking exams for which group.

Group 1 - the good tutor and the new lecturer who speaks German in an English accent and is really lenient
Group 2 - the barely functioning potentially alcoholic lecturer who flips between hysterical and bitchy all the time and is possibly on some kind of medication and the tutor who has been on maternity leave for two of the years I've been at that uni and who I've never had as a tutor ever

Guess which group I've got

On the plus side, I'm the very first person to go in Group 2 so they'll just be grading me based on how I do, my grade won't hinge on how anyone else did because they can't compare me to anyone else. Also Group 1 is such a lol (well, for me because I'm not in it) because all the people who are practically fluent are going first and then my friend Robyn is going after like 8 more or less fluent German speakers gutted waaay
