Default British managers too inexperienced or "unsexy" now

With exception of Brendan Rogers at Liverpool it's getting tougher for British/ Irish managers to break into top tier football management, even the championship has foreign managers and coaches. No Brits in frame full time post Moyes at Man U for next season.

Don't get me wrong Mourinho, Martinez, Wenger, Manchini, Rafa Benitez have been superb in EPL but in these post Sir Alex times things are looking tough, even for Scots managers who used to excel. Without Champions League experience it's impossible for Brit managers to go to top clubs abroad like Roy Hodgkinson, Sir Bobby Moore and Terry Venables.

OLE Gunnar Solskjaer can walk into a Premier League role from a average club (top Norway side Molde are hardly even on par with a mid table EPL, or La Liga side) yet could even Adam Lambert or even Brendan Rogers go to a decent European club? Not all foreigners are great, see AVB. IT feels like foreigners are being hired because they are more fashionable and seen as exciting and "sexier" in football terms

Tony Pulis or Steve Bruce won't grow to potential but are no worse than AVB. They would be managing bigger clubs had they been from Argentina or Spain. Gus Poyet was sacked live on TV by championship Brighton, but still walked into a EPL side.

Bobby Moore schooled Mourinho now the Mourinhos school the Brendan Rodgers. Britain used to have so so players but we used to have fantastic managers, well Scots managers. We go on and on about Brendan Rogers but it's really just him and too a lesser extent Neil Lennon.. Where's it gone wrong for Brit managers? Where will the next Sir Bobbys, Bill Shankleys, Sir Alex's, Cloughies come from?

Giggs won't get the job full time, he's seat warming till end of season with the remit "don't ******* up or concede more records".

Giggs in the future I meant. Sums it up when Giggs had to stop Moyes resorting to crap tactics. He'd have a good philosophy.

Much rather have a foreign coach than some British chap.

Mainly because they are. Unfortunate, but true. Similar to foreign players compared to English.

In some cases its probably true, Spurs in particular and West Brom going for Pepe Mel

The likes of Brucie, Pulis, Pardew and Big Sam will probably never be considered capable of managing a top 6 club. Though British managers haven't exactly done that well when they have had the chance; Hodgson, Sherwood, Moyes, Hughes etc. Sherwood's not had the easiest of jobs mind I suppose

Rodgers shows that a British manager is capable of success at a top club if they're good enough, its just that there's probably a shortage of Brit managers who do have that ability

Rodgers also has a great philosophy going for him, which the likes of Moyes and Pulis lack.

Football is different mentality outside this country and tbh it's better. Here you are applauded for being out of position and making a late block to save yourself, where the player who never has to leave his feet or break a sweat defensively due to his brain and positioning doesn't get as much attention. Here someone who has a game with 90% passing completion like Cleverley would find a role in a European team gets ridiculed for "passing sideways lolz". Different mentalities and it shows in coaching a lot of times too...not just in the prem, but at Grass roots. If a kid at full back tries to take some one on near his goal and then play it forward giving it away he is yelled at..if a kid boots it out with no invention shown he is applauded and told "well done kid"...kids are taught way differently in England to how they should and it shows in coaching and players. went off an a small tangent, but still
