It´s possible, but for that England needs Italy to win against both Costa Rica and Uruguay and for England to beat Costa Rica by at least 2 goals.

For example if Italy beats both Costa Rica and Uruguay by 1-0 and England beats Costa Rica by 2-0, the standings would be as follows:

Code:
Italy 3 3 0 0 4-1 9
England 3 1 0 2 4-4 3
-------------------------------------
Costa Rica 3 1 0 2 3-4 3
Uruguay 3 1 0 2 3-5 3
In this case England would go through, since they would have a better goal diffence.

England´s lucky break is still the fact that Costa Rica managed to win against Uruguay. That is the only thing that is keeping hope alive.

The other alternative would of course be if Italy lost both of it´s matches and England won against Costa Rica.

This is genius.

If we'd actually recorded this and sent it to Woy and the lads, I think we'd of won both games,

I was wrong on the Italy losing both of their matches scenario. Of course in that case, Uruguay and Costa Rica will go on and England and Italy would go home.
