The BB public vote is a huge money generator for Channel 5.
I think that it would be unlikely for them to purposely skip the
opportunity to make lots of ££££ off the public.

Thanks for that irrelevant reply.

Because the show's natural winner could end up going on the whim of the house. For example, in BB13, a vote like that would almost certainly have seen off either Deana or Luke A.

I think for them to do this, it would have to be clear from the start that the type of reality show it is has switched, and that we can expect people to leave the show by a variety of means. I don't think this would necessarily be a bad thing - I'd quite like it is, for example, someone could lose their place as the result of a task or by some other means.

But they'd have to make it clear that it's not entirely a "public vote show" from the start. They won't throw this curveball without prior warning... they just won't risk the potential effect of a favourite going in this way and a resulting drop in viewership. Yes, favourites are evicted by the "normal means" all the time... but people can accept that. They don't enjoy the show as much because their personal fav has gone but, they can accept a normal eviction. People won't accept an "unjust" eviction, house bullies clubbing together to vote someone directly out without even a chance to save them. People would almost certainly tune out.

There is no such thing as a natural winner.

The public's opinion on housemates changes week by week. Look at Makosi, by all accounts BB6's "natural" winner for half the series. Then Anthony won. Favourites change on a whim over the slightest of things.

But, especially in the way the show is on channel 5, the nomination/eviction process changes every single week on a whim so is unfair and unnatural by its nature. I see what you mean but the eviction process is already a load of random sh*t so it makes no different IMO. So people complaining about this particular change would be quite funny to me.

Like people who complain about twists, only when it sees their favourite evicted. Otherwise, they love them.

Emma made it sound like a housemate was definitely going to be evicted, but with no public vote involved then they would be able to keep the twist a surprise. Plus the outside eviction night mob won't be there (I don't think?), so I wouldn't be surprised at all.

I doubt they'd give the HMs that much power, The 'evicted HM' will likely be in a bedsit situation for a few days and will control the newbies. The other HMs will think the newbies are in control when it's really the evicted HM.

I guess we'll see! I'm not saying I'd stake my house on there not being a non-vote eviction... I think it would be stupid for the show and bad for ratings... But then, 70% of what they've done since the move to 5 has been both of those so I wouldn't be all that surprised. Producers seem to be suicidal when it comes to ratings.

I would however happily wager £50 or maybe even £100 on there being a "twist", here.

What ever happens, it's nailed on that Marlon is going to be the 'cop' out vote especially as it's face to face- easy and reasoned target- without anyone losing face. Marlon will accept the reasons and the rest of the housemates will pile it on, I will be surprised that they if they don't all use one of their votes on him. Something that not everyone would have done if it had been a diary room nominated vote.

Another interesting twist to see if they react like a pack.

I like the way that some have shown their colours since he pressed the button to save himself, he now knows that the people who he thought were his pack mates are from it.

That's not what I was referring to as a "natural" winner.

By "natural" it infers that the show is allowed to play out consistently and fairly. Brian's series I suppose played out completely fairly and straight forward.

However, no channel 5 series has been straight forward. They're more interested in throwing in a different element/new twist each and every week which means there's nothing natural about the development of the series.

Crying about this one twist whilst being fine with the other 50 they throw in just isn't a strong argument IMO.

I don't know what a "natural" winner is. But they were bloody obvious winners. And the idea of any twist that got rid of either of those 2 would caused outrage.

I'm against all of the twists unless there is a fairness to it. I believe BB destroyed itself from BB7 - BB8 and there was no recovery. At least not on Channel 4. This sort of stuff leads the show into a dead end, every time.

I don't think the twists spoiled BB. The rot set deeper than that. Too many of them definitely added to it.

Apart from a launch night twist, BB9 and BB10 were a lot more straight forward than obvious tampering like BB8 and yet they still slipped the show down further.

BB9 was the last decent series imo. BB10 was a bit ridiculous with Noirin and her boyfriend (Plus, it had the worst launch night ever and seriously reduced live coverage). But CBB with Jade and BB8 were the series that did all the damage imo. No recovery after that.

Its a bit dull if its just one person in isolation, they dont usually do this, its always two or more so unless they do it as a double eviction then i cant see it.

They have introduced multiple housemates before without big VT's and the like.

You guys are giving BB far too much credit with being imaginative!
It's going to be exactly what's been said. Housemates will nominate and whoever gets the most noms WILL be evicted....simple as! No secret room, no spying on the housemates, just an instant eviction! That's what it's going to be!!!
