I think people found it spiteful when he called Jale a maggot.. personally i found it funny i call my dearest friends/family maggots, slugs, snails & occasionally worms.

I'm not sure that Chris was referring to their jobs and how good or bad they would be at them. After all, he wouldn't know as he hasn't seen them in their working environment.
Could be he was talking about their personalities and depth, or lack thereof.

I like Chris, but he was a bit harsh there on Ash and Winston.

you chris/ashleigh fans are just making it up as u go along, ash and winston arethe least bitching HMs, rarely get involved in that. and I dont know where this lazy ash has come from, yes he does chill a lot, but then so do all the others, I havent seen ashleigh or chris or anybody else for that matter being overly active. atleast ash and the lads do think up varied forms of entertainment, I've never seen chris and ashleigh do anything else but sit, and whinge
