I think by the phrase; "polite and decent", the Truth was pertaining specifically to Gary's response in that particular exchange. The constant sneer is anatomical - a legacy from Gary's accident, and even if he is "pretending all HM's are his friends" can any logical person blame him for such a 'passive resistance' strategy when he is alone in a house full of such bullying cretins? As for the other traits you outline, I have actually only witnessed one incident of putting his foot on the table, but even if he is guilty of "farting, belching, spitting" - and as unsavoury as these traits may be - they are, after a ll natural body functions and wholly more acceptable than the vile actions and unwarranted tirades practised by sissy James & co against him. What's more, when any behavioural faults are pointed out to Gary, he concedes and elects to try to remedy such faults. When have the bullying 'in crowd' ever even admitted their wrongdoings let alone promised to try to curtail them? I think that you keep falling short in your arguments against Gary.
