Looks like something is finally opening in place of the butchers (you can see a tiny bit of the new shop next to Roys)

Get it? Got it? Good!

Is anyone supposed to care that Les Dennis's character may have inherited a genetic heart condition??!?
And the love triangle of Dev-Mary-Julie, was it deliberate that it is the 3 worst & OTT/hammy actors on Corrie or pure coincidence??

Corrie is really at a bit of a low point atm, I can hardly bring myself to watch it, Stuart Blackburn needs to go.

Corrie and Emmerdale going through bad patches, Would say its been a better year for Corrie than Emmerdale though, Emmerdale has been pretty poor all year apart from the big storylines (Donnas death). Not really good for soaps atm.

There's just nothing interesting going on at the moment, the whole Tina thing has been dragged out waaaay too long, both Emmerdale and Corrie need new producers, stat.

Majority of the cast in Emmerdale are whats bringing it down, Those two lesbians are awful, This new Tracy character is probably the worst character the show has ever had, Kerry is terrible.. the list goes on. Corrie has a much more solid cast but the writers are letting them down.

Yeah, Corrie at least still has a proper identity, Emmerdale has kinda become a whole different show.

Yeah, half of the characters don't fit in with the whole farm/village life.

EastEnders is far better in my opinion, but unfortunately Coronation Street has cemented itself as top dog and will have to go through a really awful patch (like EastEnders 2011-2013 - which is ultimately what has put into Number 2, sometimes Number 3 spot) for EastEnders to ever be superior in terms of ratings again. However, soaps are the one thing on telly where officials mean nothing, and I'm pretty sure EastEnders gets much more viewers in officials than Coronation Street.

I don't like how unimportant Home Farm is these days either, it used to be that the richest family in the village liked there, now its just Declan.

Completely agree, said that to someone not long ago. It needs a strong family living in it.. Even the Wylde family did it justice.

It's annoying what they did to the Kings, and its even more annoying seeing what they've turn Jimmy into, he's like some kind of clown character now.

Emmerdale completely destroy perfectly good families, the only exceptions are the Dingles!
The Wyldes suffered the exact same fate as The Kings in a shorter time frame. |

Jimmy is a joke now, his character at the moment is the worst it's ever been. And i agree Who Is She, They destroy families and characters that don't need touching that are perfectly fine, theres not enough realism in it and you easily lose any connections with the characters.

Yeah, the Wylde family showed real potential, then they got rid of them like a year later. Also the way they treat long term characters is terrible, Viv and Terry, both killed off screen, Donna, killed off in some crap storyline.

Yes, completely agree with this also. The fact that a great character like Viv's final scene was lying asleep on a couch is ridiculous, they could have at least given more drama with the fire and utilized it more, perhaps given Viv something to do like running into the burning flat to save the twins instead of being a plot device in her own exit! I think Donna's story has been a high for 2014, much like Killer Cameron was 2013's high, but she shouldn't have been killed off. Last edited by Cal.; 20-09-2014 at 01:53 PM. |

Donnas storyline has been the only slight positive this year, same with Camerons last year which was really good though, but the smaller story-lines that fill in the gaps for all the months inbetween the big ones are just awful. Every episode involves crime, someone stealing or doing something illegal, someone cheating, someone lying or just something completely unrealistic. The writers said they have "big" things coming in the Autumn/end of the year so fingers crossed they don't mess this up as well.

I hate what Blackburn has done to Todd, he is now a completely different character to what he used to be, quite ridiculous how someone could change that much...
But despite him being changed I still actually really like Todd, I wanted him to punch vile Sean in the face tonight! Now that is a character that needs axing, god knows why they keep him, he cannot act, his character is vile & yet I understand they are setting him up with a vicar Blackburn needs to go!
