..yeah, that's really amazing isn't it...I don't think anyone can go in anymore because the roof is unsafe but it would be incredible to see ...do you have any abandoned buildings near you, Liam..?...

I am a writer and I do exactly the same thing with old sepia/monochrome photographs of strangers which I come across from time-to-time. I am fascinated by the people within the photos; who were they? What's their story? And always, there is a sense of sadness - not only because these people are long gone, but because the era has too. Your photographs are beautiful and sad, and wistful, and evoke the same sort of emotion in me.

I don't know who you are, but from your choice of avatar, what you have written on here at times, and this fascination you have, I think that you are a beautiful person - in the true sense of the word. Thank you.

I don't think so, I'd love it if there were, I'd love nothing more than to have a bit of a nose round inside of one, i find abandoned buildings beautiful and fascinating, the idea that no matter how much time passes, the integral structure and purity of a building can stay there and pass the test of time is heaven to me.

..that's a really lovely way of saying it, Liam...I think also for me, I love to imagine them how they were when they were in use and imagine the people who used them/worked in them or lived in them, you know...imagine 'their stories' and just imagine how different the whole landscape around them would have looked as well..we have quite a few where I live and also old bunkers and things from the war ..most are either unsafe to go in or 'haunted'..or so the 'story' goes.....

..oh wow....there is another thread about 'people' ..their faces, which I also find fascinating like you do..my favourite 'people' pics are ones of them just doing ordinary things in the street or in a café or whatever and completely unaware that they are being photographed...I particularly love black and white pics and tend to have all of my own printed in black and white as well...you should check out the thread Kirk and maybe post some yourself...what do you write, btw..?...

I see them as a message of life, that no matter what you're put through, no matter the conditions you have to face, if you're built good, then what's at your heart will help keep you up and strong
'Haunted' is even better, the stories are what helps make these buildings interesting, if someone says 'don't go in there, it's haunted' that would make me more determined than ever to get myself in there

That sounds like somewhere i'd want to go for a night, i love all things paranormal so that would be fantastic.. The Skirrid Inn in Monmouthshire is the oldest and supposedly the most haunted building in Wales, was featured on Most Haunted and everything

The titanic took its first and last voyage in April, 1912. It was not until 73 years later that the decaying wreck of what was once the greatest ship in the world was discovered. The 1,500 souls lost with the vessel had been devoured by sea life, leaving behind a ghost ship.

Right? there's still a noose at the top of the stairs, because apparently a judge in the 17th century iirc, used to hang people there and there were 180 hung there in total, it's totally not the same noose, but it adds to the feel i suppose
I have no idea, i've never watched an episode properly either.
