That would then give more of a reason for the guest acts performing too.

Currently it just seems to be pointlessly filling time to justify having a whole separate show for the results. Filling voting time is a bit more useful.

We all want these 'shock' results really anyway

Predicted Paul/Jay B2... prefer Jay but Paul did sing best.

it's not his fault, people should of voted Paul.
Paul was treated more unfairly than Jay in both song choices and time slots so it was near impossible for Paul to beat Jay in a public vote.

Louis though has no self respect and made a wrong decision again this week, he always does one big mistake every year and saving Jay over Paul when he was worse than him on both nights is disgraceful imo.

Just read on another site that the person that sings first in the sing off is the one with the lowest votes!!! Interesting if true lol.

I thought it was done in the order they had sang in the show that particular night.

Paul sang first in the show, hence he sang first in the sing off.
I think that is always the case, however does anyone know any different in case I am worng in that.

I also don't think an any way Louis did anything wrong, I wish it went to deadlock every week because I think only the voting public should decide who stays and goes.
It is up the the mentors/judges to make sure their acts have the best songs and do the best performances to win the public votes for them.

I mean, on Strictly for instance, where there is a dance off and the judges decide who leaves there, that is more acceptable as they have no mentoring or deciding the routines for the dancers
at all anyway.
They solely judge.

X factor, has not only the 4 people involved with the acts, mentoring and decisding the songs they sing and the performance of it too, then they also take on the role of judging too, then deciding who satys or goes, never mind the public vote for whoever was last of the bottom 2.
That is unacceptable and purely ridiculous, to me anway.
Paul got the least votes, he shouldn't then be there if he is getting the least votes, simple as that.

I don't care for Jay Mock, but Louis didn't save him, he just did what Simon has done several times too, taking it to deadlock.

It was in the end,the public who wanted Paul out,he got the least votes of all the acts from the public.
For me that is a right decision, people have spent more money, possibly a good deal more, voting to keep Jay in,why should that not be the most important way to decide who leaves.

then re-open the lines for those 2 acts and do the show as usual with its guests.
Closing the lines in the last 5 minutes and announcing who got the least votes from the public after the sing off and that's that.

None of this with the judges, where usually 2 of them are going to vote for their own act obviously anyway.
I would be in favour of this!

The judges votes are so pointless and it wastes time really. Has no drama factor at all.

Oh god no, deadlock is amazing for drama.

Could you have imagined Rylan vs Carolynne if the public got to vote in the sing off, she'd have got about 90% of the vote

I'm not even a big fan of Paul, but he had more of a chance of rebounding longer than Jay does as more people like Paul than they like Jay, Simon has had to practically bus Paul every week while pushing Jay every week yet there was only one place between them, and I bet they was very close in the vote too.

I do get what you're saying though Joey.
