I thought Scooch deserved more than 19 points... but then again, in retrospect, what did we expect?

Cyprus will always vote for Greece, Portugal will always vote for Spain, and Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland will stay in their packs.

It's interesting to note that, as Terry was saying, not one Western European country "the original 5" of UK, Ireland, France, Germany and Spain, were in the top half.

Long gone are the days where the song and performance were what got the votes!

I thought Ukraine would win - you couldn't help but dance to it. My favourite was Russia's entry - ticked all the boxes for me, haha!

I thought we had a good tune....but c'mon the eastern european countries are all going to vote for each other.

They should change the voting rules for next year as it's becoming to predictable.

The UK will only win if by some anomorfic weird earthquake we end up in the middle of the baltics.

It should be re-branded Eurotrash. Russia should have won.

The UK should pull out, we have no chance - the voting is purely political or down to favouritism.

I agree we should pull out of eurovision, it is a joke, its a long while since we won, was it Katrina and the Waves that won it for us??

I think we should enter a serious act next time. You know, a well known band from the UK. Of course, very few people would stick their neck out for that, but I think it would be an interesting experiment to see how we fared if we put forward someone well known.

^ Yes Sunny, and that was 10 years ago.

The voting has been just ridiculous for the past few years to be honest. It's us western countries (UK, France, Spain and Germany) that are keeping it running with our money, yet we always do crap. I reckon the BBC should stop funding it, then it will be bye bye Eurovision. And if the rest of Europe hated us becuase of it we could be like 'well we wouldn't have if you voted fairly' hmmm... yea.

My faves on the night were Greece, F.Y.R Macedonia, Turkey, Moldova and Russia. I voted Greece and Moldova.

And urghhhh that blonde bint in the pink dress was just so bad. She was even more annoying than Nikki, and that's saying something!

LOL Z, if that happened, it would probably have made my night!

Found this on Teletext. Interesting...

Malta Slates Eurovision Voting
Malta has called for phone voted in certain countries to be scrapped at the Eurovision Song Contest until they can be monitored more closley.

Robert Abela, who headed Malta's contingent, said many results were "not based solely on the public vote".

He added "five or six" other countries during Saturday's contest were angered by block voting- where neighbours back each other regardless og the song.

Serbia's Marija Serovic won the contest, watched by 10.9m in the UK.

The tactical voting is getting out of hand.

If you think about it, Rawr, Ukraine was a drag act, hardly much better than the Serbian act :P

Hmm, that probably still wouldn't work.

Like when Javine went. She was quite well known and she didn't do very well. Then again, the song wasn't great, IMHO.

I think if the song is great and the act delivers it well... political voting or not it would do well. Scooch was just awful. As were Dervish (the Irish entry). They weren't the worst.. but neither deserved to do well.

Everyone keeps saying Scooch is very Eurovisionesque... but the song that won was totally different to Scooch. Just because you're camp and cheesy doesn't mean youa re going to do well.

The likes of Jessica Garlick were classic... and deserved to do well. She had a great song and she delivered it well. Why can't the UK choose something like that, instead of the stereotypical 'Eurovision song'? Cyndi would have been a much better bet than Scooch, IMO. Especially if you look at recent winners... very similar to what she did.

OMG, first of all, it's Serbia, try to educate yourself a little... Second, Serbian singer is not a shemale nor a lesbian, I don't know why should everyone look as a f-ing model to be popular... The girl has a fantastic voice and the winner song is just fine, so just go away and learn some geography!
