He knew darn well it was a very provocative analogy to use in front of Michelle.

It was way OTT and a very poor choice. But then he does like to be as offensive as he can possibly get away with, despite also being the first (and only) person to scream 'i am offended' in the DR every time someone else says anything remotely rude.

He's been pretty disgusting throughout both with his comments and his double standards.
