Shock at Emily's departure

Housemates were visibly shaken after the news that Emily had got the BB boot for using a racially offensive word.

Charley retreated to the garden and sat crying.

"Don't feel bad," Nicky said, hugging her. "It was quite insulting what she said to you."

They then talked about Emily's actions immediately after she said the word.

Nicky added: "She wouldn't leave us alone because she didn't want us to discuss it. She made it worse by following us around."

Charley said to the others: "Me and her were in shock.

"It's not right, whether it's said as a joke or serious, or it just slipped out. It's not right. I feel sick. Nicky, I feel well sick."

Lesley was tasked with getting Emily's clothes packed and asked the twins and Laura to gather her belongings and put them in her case.

Later in the lounge, Nicky sat talking with Ziggy and Chanelle about the event.

Nicky said: "What makes it worse is that it wasn't said vindictively or spitefully or in a racist way, but she didn't say it in a jokey way. The way it just slipped out, that's what was most upsetting."
