There are products on the market that can inform a surfer if someone wants to use the telephone line.

With Broadband (I would need a better computer for this ) You can surf and use the telephone.

My solution is to have 2 telephone lines with one dedicated to the net

Another alternative, if you must have a desire to microwave your brain and give yourself brain tumors is to have a mobile phone switched on whilst surfing and disseminate the mobile number to those with you land line number.
