It was always extremely likely that she'd find herself surrounded by people young enough to be her grandchildren, and that there'd be a considerable amount of juvenile behaviour. The fact that she was such a mean-spirited, patronising old curmudgeon hardly did her any favours, either. As for Charley, she hardly went into the house expecting someone to direct possibly the vilest racist slur there is at her. What Seany did was childish, disrespectful and not at all amusing. But worse than the word Emily used, and subsequently spent far more time trying to justify rather than apologise for? I don't think so.
