The girls have Sarah, Chloe, and the Twins.

None of them three are even remotely entertaining. (despite Chloe being likable)

The guys have Joel, Cristian, Aaron, Kieran, Jack, and Nick.

All of them have had their moments of fun, highs, and lows, that imo makes them more entertaining Housemates.

Trouble is most these "men" are playing "follow the leader" (just so happens they're women) thinking it best.

Even Mr Independent Cristian who stood up to Sarah in the kitchen suddenly backed down in the bedroom.

But if you look at other incidents, Joel has stood up to Sarah and Danny stood up to Harriet.

So it proves it's all there.
Mark my words once the cosy house hierachy changes, so will the HMs.

But what you also need is more like Joel who (maybe) aren't too afraid of being unpopular, speaking their mind or being in a minority.

I think they all need some sort of wake up call.
Jack especially is all too comfy thinking the public like him while he leads the other group.
Take out Chloe, twins, Eileen, Aaron etc he'll come out swinging again as his imaginary alliances start disappearing.

at some of you defending the guys this year as "strong"

They're either stupid (Danny), weak (Nick, Joel, Jack) or just weird (Cristian). The fact Kieran is the closest thing you have to a dominant male tells you everything.

I don't think the men are necessarily strong, just stronger than the women. Not enough has happened for me to read most of the housemates, but all the ones that have already yelled and screamed are the ones that are the weakest in the house - and that's been only women so far (and Jack). I don't care for terms like 'alpha' and 'dominant' because they basically just get given to the most controlling person in the house and don't actually say anything about the person. Most of the men probably don't want to go up against the women in case they appear 'sexist' since any time a man says a word against a woman, he's automatically the bad guy. They probably also don't feel the need to get into pissing contests with women.

Joel is probably the strongest male in there and Sarah the strongest female (I don't think I've seen her chuck a hissy fit yet). They both seem to be able to remain calm and mature even when in unpleasant situations. There's a difference between having a thick skin/being able to stand up for yourself and just being a rude arrogant douche.

In terms of being a strong 'character' in the show, none of the women have any personality - half of them take after Glenn Close in Fatal Attraction and the others don't do anything. Men-wise; Joel is the only one letting his personality show since Nick has been suffocated by the Jade blanket, but is rarely shown. The rest are pointless. Nick is clearly not a 'strong' person, he seems quite awkward and unsure, but I'll take that over psycho arrogance any day. I very rarely give any person the label 'strong', and I wouldn't really say anyone that goes on Big Brother is a strong person. Still, the louder someone is, the weaker and less entertaining they are to me.
