From The DM
FOUR more men enter the Big Brother house tonight to spice things up and boost plummeting ratings. Their grand entrance comes after behind-the-scenes chaos when Channel 4 bosses decided to pull them at the last minute - then changed their minds. The show has faced tough competition from crowd pullers BBC1's The Apprentice and ITV1's Britain's Got Talent. Big Brother's ratings slumped to a record low on Wednesday when just 2.1million viewers tuned in. Show chiefs were desperate for a gimmick but wanted to save it until after Britain's Got Talent finishes on Sunday. A source had said early yesterday: "It was decided not to risk wasting such a big twist on a night when there might not be a big audience." Later it was full steam ahead for the boys. A source said: "The girls are going to be really happy to get four guys and viewers will be excited too. One of them is a millionaire so he would be a real catch." The others are a tree surgeon, a model who likes wrestling and another who is a "cosmic ordering" devotee, like TV's Noel Edmonds. The house will be packed with 15 housemates and the girls may face mass eviction next week to make room. There is a live eviction tonight. The boys will discover Ziggy's no flash in the pan though. He told Gerry and Nicky yesterday: "I walk around stark naked in my house, I'm not gonna stop here." |
