Default Lowest eviction rating in Big Brother history...

Could not find this anywhere else , sorry if its been posted , anyway this is from Inside Big Brother. Enjoy.

***

3 million say goodbye to Shabnam
Saturday 16th June at 2:43pm
Just 3 million viewers tuned in to see Shabnam get the boot - it was the least watched eviction in Big Brother history.

The first show, in which four new men joined the clan, was watched by 3.1 million viewers (13.7% share), whilst the second show attracted 3.0 million (13.3%). The second show was the lowest eviction show in history. It comes at the end of a difficult week for the show, which has faced tough competition from Britain’s Got Talent.

Last night, Britain’s Got Talent averaged 8.9 million viewers (38.1%) from 9pm, making it the second most watched show of the day, behind Coronation Street which attracted 9 million viewers (46.3%) at 7.30pm.

Big Brother also faced competition from Coronation Street at 8.30pm. The soap had 7.4 million viewers (33.5%).

Last night was the final night that Big Brother and Britain’s Got Talent face each other. Britain’s Got Talent ends on Sunday but avoids a clash with Big Brother. Channel 4 will now be hoping that the show can begin to rebuild its audience.

This week, the show has averaged 2.8 million viewers. So far this series, it has averaged 3.6 million.

Stick with us.

***

Im glad to be perfectly honest. As I previously stated this may wake the producers up a bit. Give them a good slap around.

The format should have been given a major overhaul from the start this year. The show is just going to lose more and more longtime viewers as time goes bye without anymore new viewers to pick up.

Big Brother : The Battle does not sound all too bad in my eyes.

I think it can't be worse now, so it couls be only better for Big Brother, but now the producers need to make something good and enjoyable to watch, no big twist for the moment, the house needs to calm down with arguments, twists and new housemates. It's time to enjoy a "normal" game.

Thats my problem. I dont think a normal game is going to work its magic after 8 years. Even im begining to tire of the format.

I mean that the producers need to calm down. Jyst maybe with the normal nominations or not more new housemates until a few weeks. I understand people who don't watch Big Brother: too violent, less fun, too many housemates: that's not enjoyable for some, that's why they decide to watch Britain's Got Talent.
I think the viewers, we need to know better the housemates and what they think really.

Is it really worse than what it was during BB4?

I dont think its any of what you mentioned its just the fact that the nation may be a little bit tired of it.

Big Brother was the star player for reality TV , but he aint as fast as what he used to be , and hes risking getting kicked off the team.

Thats my extended metaphor for the day.

BB4 got higher averages than BB6 and possibly BB7 too you know. Which is proof that its not how boring the show is , its how old the concept is.

BB7 had one of the best ratings. BB6 had the lowest ratings so far.

So, the 83% rating doesn't seem quite so bad.

I think people are just bored with the show now, maybe it should stick to the celebrity format for three weeks and people wouldnt get fed up of it

Agree, I think the "girls twist" during the launch night was not so good...people don't like big changes in Big Brother !

I would not go so far as to say it had one of the best ratings. It was slightly up on 6 but almost all the other seires scored higher.

This series so far has been far from perfect so I think we can see the low ratings as a good thing.
This will only make Channel 4/Endemol make it even better.
In TV Land ratings are EVERYTHING!

Im pretty sure BB2 and BB4 beat BB7. If 4 beat 6 , and 7 was only slightly up on 6 , it seems logical to me.

So the way I imagine it to be is...

1. BB3
2. BB5
3. BB2
4. BB4
5. BB7
6. BB6
7. BB1
8. BB8 [so far].

Not too sure about BB1 , I know it picked up later.

From wikipedia [big brother 6 page]...

Quote:
The show surpassed Big Brother 4 and received the lowest viewer ratings of all the Big Brother series due to having housemates who were considered unpopular with the viewers
And im pretty sure that 4 scored higher than 7 and 1 so yeah. And I highly doubt 8's average so far is higher than 4 or 6.

So he is a lot righter than you so far .

This will be a problem, if it continues like this.

"Britain's Got Talent" will have affected things, as some people who like BB also, will tape one & watch the other.

Endemol will know this, and won't panic just yet.

And Big Brother is three months long so it has plenty of time to haul its ass out of the patch and re-invent itself mid series .

Im not surprised. Britains Got Talent is a family show which is obviously going to get more viewers, whereas BB isn't exactly a family programme. Also, some people may decide to watch Britains Got Talent and then watch BB on 4od and I don't think channel4 include 4od in the ratings.

I think BB is making a big mistake messing with the basic format. ie. Nominations have been corrupted by silly inovations. Also punishing other housemates when a housemate breaks the rules was done last year and is old hat. That gimmick has had its day and they should return to punishing the guilty.

Peoples basic instict is to not like unfairness......I think as well as some stronger competition this year all the fiddling around with the format has become off putting and the game less interesting.....

There is just about still time to turn it around but the window of opportunity for that is closing rapidly.......

Although I think that viewings will increase now that BGT has finished, I really think Big Brother should change his game a little... new ideas, new twists and a little more cruel, if you ask me. Mwhahahaha! Just to catch people's attention and draw them back to BB.

i mean come on, we have cookies.
