I said that he kind of voted. Some of your comments say "Joel said he wasn't going to vote at all" etc. but to basically veto one person is sort of a vote for the other two. He didn't stay completely out of it like your comments suggest.

Joel knew full well that a vote was going to take place. He just wanted to be seen abstaining. I can't believe how naive some of you are to what he did.

I ask again, how was that a vote it was an opinion not a vote, no one was asked who they wanted to save, they were told to vote one out and he refused to do so.

You know it was you who challenged me on my original comments as to Joel, not vice versa.

Yes, he saw an opportunity to draw attention to himself. That was the move of a politician who wanted to be seen taking a principled stance. In reality it was a self serving move designed to make him look better than the others that he knew would make a decision.

Danny manipulated the votes in the end with his stance.
I don't like Danny, but he did what he was asked to do. he didn't manipulate anything. It was obvious they were all going to agree on Sam over Jack or Chloe.

The others were always going to say Sam but they didn't want to speak up. Someone has to take the bull by the horns...Joel bottled it and left it to the others to make them look bad...just like he always does.

He only said what he was thinking. You're reading too much into it.

I feel the same. He does everything with that sneer on his face too. This past week he has been pretty unbearable and highly annoying. What bemuses me is when he asks his intimidating questions why doesn't someone just turn around and tell him to get lost.

Nope. Everything about the way he went about doing that said "Look at me taking my principled stance... Celebrate me, vote for me!"

I see it differently, once Joel had said that, all of them could have followed his line.
he didn't and couldn't know for sure they would not do so.

I would have loved to see what would have happened as Vicky said, had they all said the same as Joel and refused to make a decision.

Joel made the very first comment the minute BB revealed the twist, anything could have happened,he couldn't know what would.
he still totally stood by his decision however even when they all caved in after Danny spoke.

Whether it's a vote or an opinion, it still contributed to the outcome, which is why I think to say "Joel wasn't voting at all" isn't quite correct. If you want no part in the outcome, why give any opinion?

Not sure what you're trying to suggest by your second comment.

Of course he bloody did. And he didn't try to persuade the others. He simply said he would abstain.

He jumped on the opportunity. Of course he stood by his decision... That was the ****ing point. To stand out and look principled. In truth it was a highly manipulative and self serving move.

He's done what he needed to do. He's got people actually buying into his bull**** and supporting him. He's standing out from the rest. Well played Mr. Slimeball Politician.

Nah i disagree, there was no way he calculated all of that in the split second. He just said what he was thinking out loud, it isn't uncommon in or outside of the show (for politicians and non-politicians)

And?

Your man Jack was after taking dosh. He shifts from side to side more than MC Hammer when making his choice. Cowardly big man. Shady.

It didn't though.because he didn't vote and therefore made no contribution other than to say he hoped Chloe would stay.
He spoke first,he had no idea how all of them may have voted when a vote was actually done,

His decision to not vote at all, was his opinion of how wrong the twist was, still not a vote just an opinion.
Clearly he likes Chloe, however he couldn't vote to save her, he had to vote to evict someone.
That is the whole point, he said he would not and did not vote.

Jack is totally honest. Sometimes he doesn't know what to do, and he stresses over it.

Everything Joel does is calculated. EVERYTHING. And what you saw tonight was him desperately trying to be seen in a certain way by the audience to help his cause.

What has his politics to do with anything, you seem to not be seeing any good in him you don't like his politics or politicians in general.

That is fair enough but I look at him differently and I strongly disagree with you on this issue, unlike many other issues where I do agree with you.
We will just have to agree to disagree here.

I'm glad Joel's composure and vocabulary piss people off. Exposes those who feel threatened by younger intellectuals or have issues with certain politicos. Fun to read.
In the game, his moves have been brilliant and he deserves the win. The rest are huge hypocrites acting like they are best friends for the camera's while they have their heart set on the prize.
Be honest. Go Joel.

The issue is with how disingenuous he is.

Ok. The way I see it is to say "I'm completely abstaining... but we shouldn't evict Chloe" is not completely abstaining, it affects the outcome even if it is not a vote for someone. You clearly see it differently

Yes, and stressing it too much speaks volumes. Coward. His shifting eyes speak volumes.

Joel is smart. Yes he asks too many questions and thinks he's smarter than them but he is. It's not hard to be smarter than that lot. I'm coming around to Jack btw, don't hate him. The way his supposed BFF, Chloe has treated him since she thought he was unpopular is horrible. Dropped him like a bad habit.
