I tried searching for the answer on the forum but couldn't find anything.

I like to watch Big Brother Live on E4 sometimes but every minute or so, the sound from the house is cut off and replaced with birds singing or general background noise. A minute or so later the sound comes back on.

Why is this? This has always been the case since Big Brother 1 but I never fouind out the reason why.

Profanity such as **** , bastard , **** , **** , wanker , ***** , *** , ******** , **** and prick .

Also in case one of the housemates says somehting about a brand name or somebody on the outside world who may not want to be mentioned on TV.

So it happens a lot im afraid .

The live feed is on a time delay of 15 minutes to ensure these "profanities" can be edited out. Sorry...

There used to be a nice little advert they wud show on e4 explaining why.
Also, last year bblb went behind the scenes of the process in which the producers must find out if what the hms are saying is legal or illegal.
If its illegal they have to dip the sound, if there not sure the sound is also dipped.
They used to have a solicitors office which they ring almost daily to help them but since the race row they have a legal time on-site.
