Sony held a pre-TGS press conference today in Japan to focus on upcoming titles for its Japanese library. Square Enix took the opportunity to announce Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

Rumors have been swirling that another HD remake was on the way, featuring Dream Drop Distance. Square Enix put the speculation to rest today. Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will indeed feature Dream Drop Distance, the 3DS release that leads up to the Kingdom Hearts III, but it also has two new episodes: Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover and Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage. The former is a new HD movie that connects the earlier parts of the series' history, which Kingdom Hearts Unchained x [chi] details, and reveals more on the Foretellers. The latter takes place after Birth By Sleep's storyline, and is told from Aqua's perspective.

No other details were discussed, but Square Enix did reveal it will release on PS4 in 2016.

So it sounds like a bridge from KH2 to 3, rather than a whole new game or something if thats the case, then its a good thing, lol

DDD is great, was thinking of playing it again but I might hold off and just get it for the PS4 now.
