A BRAVE woman managed to get the man who tried to rape her convicted after tracking him down on Facebook.

Chanel Purchase, who has waived her right to anonymity, met James Huggett outside a nightclub near her home in Sheerness, Kent and walked home with thug

When they arrived at her doorstep he bundled her to the ground and laughed as he pulled down her leggings and underwear.

The 21-year-old managed to fight off the sex attacker and rushed to a police station to report the crime, where DNA swabs were taken.

The brave woman then remembered although Huggett hadn't given her his name, they'd discovered the pair had mutual friends on Facebook and so began scouring the social media site for a sight of him.

She said: "He didn't tell me his name, but he mentioned a couple of people.He didn't have a Facebook profile so I spent about three hours going through other people's photos until I found a picture with him in it.

"I immediately emailed it to the police and he was arrested the next day."

Huggett, 21, was convicted of attempted rape at Maidstone Crown Court after trial and is due to be sentence in January
