I think this voting system is an absolute sham. A woman can only vote if her husband, brother or farther escort her to the polling station. Lots of husbands, brothers and fathers won't want their women to vote and simply won't escort them which means only the more liberal families will use the female vote.

They have only provided a certain amount of polling stations where women can vote which means many will have to travel great distances to get there.

I don't agree that these women choose this culture and actually I don't believe a lot of the men choose this oppression for their women either. Saudi law is dictated by religion right down to the last detail and men (there have been many) who have tried to speak out against female oppression, risk either being murdered or imprisoned.

When a woman's destiny is dependent on the man’s goodness and generosity we have to accept that many of these women are nothing more than slaves.
